Job Summary:
The Program Coordinator for the Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA) is primarily responsible for designing and expanding ICA programs. Other support services include internal and external communication, assisting with fundraising, and building strong relationships with all constituencies.

Technology of Participation (ToP): Manage daily functions of ICA’s premier national facilitation program; administer CRM and client support lines, billing, and licensing; help strategize, design, and execute marketing plans; design and manage website including SEO; and expand digital marketing.
Uptown Social and Environmental Programs. The ICA Program Coordinator must address social and environmental issues, focused on the Uptown community, The Coordinator has the responsibility to design and facilitate programs, lead community programs, facilitate planning, and implement strategies. Create tasks for volunteers and interns to assist with program delivery. Present programs include: ICA GreenRise, Carbon Free Uptown (emphasizing buildings and people), and annual host of Uptown Earth Day

- Internal and External Communication. Effectively communicate the ICA mission through writing regular reports, presenting on social media, expanding use of the Global Schedule, and updating ICA mailing list.
- Assisting with Fundraising. Increase revenue through contacting donors, writing proposals and compiling annual reports. Research potential funders, ensure quantitative and qualitative program data, and write program evaluations.
- Relationship Building. Expand local and global supporters. Establish partnerships where each organization supports and highlights approaches that work. Connect with ICA International monthly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Passion for facilitation
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organization skills
- A self-starter, flexible and open-minded with the goal to help ICA expand its outreach
- Knowledge of Chicago and specifically Uptown community
- Experience in fundraising with donors and proposal writing
- Duo language preferred
- Computer literacy (e.g., Google Docs, MS Suite, WordPress, Canva) and social media skills
- Provide sample of written communication skills

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Regulate HVAC + building automation system
- Troubleshoot and maintain electrical components
- Troubleshoot and maintain plumbing
- Performs preventative maintenance work, such as changing the filters in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems or replacing seals in plumbing systems
- Repaint apartments or office spaces in preparation for new clients, or re-floor both private and common areas of the building
- Space inspections to determine needed repairs or actions required to prevent problems such as those that result from the presence of vermin.
- Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment. (Major repairs are performed under the supervision of licensed maintenance workers.)
- Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts.
- Cleans and inspects boiler; treats water with proper chemicals.
- Replaces broken windows; repairs doors, door locks and closets; installs window blinds.
- Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems.
- Installs electrical wiring and equipment; new electrical services, wiring during remodeling projects; replaces and repairs wiring as needed.
- Repairs electrical equipment and control circuits; replaces faulty electrical switches; repairs refrigeration equipment.
- May repair electrical locks and control panels to maintain building security.
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
- Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures.
- Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Performs outside custodial duties such as snow removal as required.
- May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed.
